Chicago & North Western DIESEL SOUNDS 1974 to 1995 An Audio Documentary
In the 1970’s, many first generation diesels were still hard at work for the Chicago & North Western Railroad. As new locomotives replaced diesels that replaced steam, a diverse roster existed. First and second generation diesels from Alco, Electro-Motive, Fairbanks-Morse and General Electric could be found on the C&NW system. Chicago & North Western DIESEL SOUNDS 1974 to 1995 documents the sound of C&NW diesel power in the yards and on the mainlines.
This CD consists of 31 digitally remastered audio tracks, over 69 minutes, recorded between 1974 and 1995. The detailed track descriptions provide prime mover and recording information, along with a photo taken during the recording or of the specific locomotive type.
